Not Using The ‘About Us’ Section Of Your DTC Website? BIG Mistake
Is the ‘About Us’ or ‘Our Story’ section of your DTC website underutilized?
This IS costing you.
Not only are you giving up on fantastic real estate but you’re also taking away an opportunity for your shoppers to connect with you.
For smaller/newer brands, especially, these pages are crucial to establishing trust and driving conversions.
But don’t believe us. Here is the research from @kanika_misra:
1/ There's been a lot of debate & advice on here that "about" or "our story" type of content doesn't matter for ecomm sites.
I wouldn't even consider that 'best practice' advice, but if you do, another example of why best practices don't mean much.
Let's squash that with proof.

Tl;dr? Conversion rates are consistently higher for product pages featuring founders’ stories. Not only that, these pages also result in better AOV and per-session value.

Thank you, @mrsharma. We especially love the 3 questions to ask your customers under point 7!
P.S. Want to understand retention better?
For example, did you know that 50% of loyalty is built even before a shopper buys from you? 🤯

Yes! They all come with great examples.
Which ad type are you testing first? We’re going with 1 (love the idea of adding a CTA on your static ads) and 9!
BONUS: Check out an innovative format that combines video with static in the featured ad below.
#FeaturedAd - Tushy
Brand: Tushy
Category: Home Goods
Format: Video (Story)
WHY IT WORKS
Have a product that’s difficult to advertise?
Take a leaf from Tushy’s design book — the brand sells bidets.
Not exactly an ‘attractive’ product. Plus, the market for these is very small.
So how did the brand get around all these limitations?
By creating an ad that resembles a mini landing page. The format allows the brand to combine static and video to:
Highlight the product’s benefits to educate customers as to why they need a bidet.
The video on the left 2/3rd of the screen shows how easy it is to install, busting any potential objections (about installation effort/ costs involved).
Highlight social proof using a cute graphic with the number of reviews and review score.
Brilliant? We think so!
P.S. And yes, this landing page idea can work for a whole host of products. Check out this ad by Bearaby in our ads library.

#BrandedCatalog Spotlight - Hyugalife
Brand: Hyugalife
Category: Nutrition Supplements
Template type: Collection-based flash sale frame
WHY IT WORKS:
The template uses two frames: a blue frame by default, and a purple flash sale frame to highlight products on a special promotion.
The slashed price, % off, and limited-time-offer messaging highlight urgency on the flash-sale items, especially when shoppers are retargeted with them.
The catalog also includes product names to differentiate between a large range of nutrition supplements and wellness products.
Create collection-based dynamic frames within the same catalog. Get started with Socioh’s Branded Catalogs here.
