DABA Ads Not Working? Three Checks To Perform Now.
We’ve talked about why every advertiser looking to scale must test DABA (Dynamic Ads, Broad Audiences) ads in their account.
But let’s quickly recap the advantage of using DABA over other ads on Meta:
These ads rely on Meta’s AI for targeting, automatically delivering your ads to your most relevant audiences.
Your product catalog is the creative, saving you time and money — no expensive shoots, scripts, influencers, UGC, or coming up with new hooks!
Once optimized, these ads are easy to scale. Just increase budgets and let Meta’s AI do the work for you.
However, we’re seeing issues with the catalog setup of 90% of the brands we work with — and it’s not just small brands, pro advertisers are struggling too.
Fixing these issues can drastically improve the performance of your DABA ads. Here are three easy checks to ensure your catalogs are set up correctly — fix them now!
New Feature Alert: Meta’s 1-Day Engaged View Attribution
Ever wondered how many of those 1-day view attributions were really just Meta showing you inflated numbers?
Well, now you have a place to start to verify this for yourself.
Meta has just launched 1-day engaged view attribution, and it’s a great way to measure the efficacy of your video ads.
Here’s what Meta says about this metric:
“When someone plays 10 seconds of a skippable video ad or watches at least 97% of the video ad, if the video ad is shorter than 10 seconds, this will count toward engaged-view attribution. The person watching the video also needs to convert on your advertising objective within 24 hours.”
Great! Finally, a way to rule out all those forced views/scrolls/impressions that probably do nothing for your sales.
Here’s what @binghott has to say about this attribution window:
New Ads Manager feature in some ad accounts: 1-day engaged-view!
This sheds light on how the system overcounts and over-attributes non-incremental 1-day view conversions.
Most view-attributable conversions are 💩, check this tool to see how many of your "purchases" are actually… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

But there’s a catch.
You need to be mindful of the fact that only skippable video ads qualify for this attribution. These ads are a smaller percentage of all your video ads.
So when comparing 1-day engaged views with 1-day view conversions, you’ll need to account for the fact that not all video ads (and placements) are counted in the 1-day engaged view attribution.

#FeaturedAd - Nathan James
Brand: Nathan James Home
Category: Home & Garden
Format: Video (Story)
WHY IT WORKS:
An ad that looks like a home decor tutorial?
That’s something we’d watch!
This Nathan James video ad could easily pass off as a home styling reel. With its neutral bookcase, great accessories, and plant cuttings, it definitely hits all the right spots!
We’ve seen this format done with influencers, but it works just as well without one — now that’s native advertising done right!
And if that wasn’t enough, the ad caption announces up to 60% off (Flash Sale!) and a lifetime warranty!
Do you need more reasons to click through to their website and shop? We don’t!
