Stop Worrying About Your Ad Frequency

You’ve probably heard marketers tell you to watch your ad frequency.

But is there such a thing as ideal frequency?

Here’s some helpful advice:

P.S. This doesn’t mean you should ignore frequency altogether, but that every brand has a different ideal frequency — based on budget and audience. Find your own benchmark and don’t worry about what works for other accounts.

Brand: Flock Chicken Chips
Category: Food & beverage
Format: Video Ad (Feed & Story)

WHY IT WORKS:

If there’s one word to describe this video, it is ‘relatable’.

And just weird enough that you’ll watch the full 3+ minutes of it.

What stands out about this video ad by Flock Chicken Chips ad is that it doesn’t feel like an ad at all. It feels like hanging out with your uncle — or your homies.

There are no fancy hooks, no eye-grabbing visuals, and no ripped influencers selling magic solutions. Just a relatable person telling you the chips are delicious, guilt-free/high-protein, and the bag the perfect size for snacking. (It is also hard to miss the CRUNCH!). But then, if you were selling chips, that’s all you’d really want to advertise, isn’t it?

What we think: Who would have thought a middle-aged dude eating an entire bag of chicken skin chips on camera is ad material? But then again, what better way to market an everyday snack to your target audience?
