How many catalogs do I need for my dynamic ads on Meta?

A lot of you have asked us this question.

“Can I still use multiple catalogs for my dynamic ads on Meta?”

Or should I keep just ONE catalog?

But then how do I test creatives in catalog ads?

Find all the answers you need in this blog post explaining how Meta’s Advantage+ catalog ads actually work, and how to get the most from your ads:

TL;DR?

The longer you run your catalogs, the better Meta is able to optimize your ads by matching events on your website with products in your catalog. This incrementally improves Meta’s learnings on that catalog — allowing its algorithm to match the correct product with the correct shopper.”

This is, in effect, why Meta advises that advertisers stick to a single catalog.

Read more on what this means for advertisers, and what you can do to ensure your catalog is set up for success.

This CRO Tip Will Make Your Sales Skyrocket

Here’s one super actionable CRO tip you can use now.

Use a heatmap to check revenue per session for each item:

Then re-arrange your items so the most valuable space is assigned to the highest performer.

Can’t believe something THIS simple can be a game-changer?

We couldn’t either — until we tried it!

Upselling/Bundling Using A Tool? Don’t Forget THIS

Are you upselling ‘related products’ in your shopper’s recommendations?

If yes, add a short explanation as to why.

See why doing this can improve your sales:

Amazing, isn’t it?

Just a one-line explanation like ‘because 78% of people in your location found it useful’ can help increase trust and boost sales. 🤯

Brand: Jolie
Category: Home Goods
Format: Video Ad (Story)

WHY IT WORKS:

What makes a good ad?

Flashy graphics? High-quality b-roll footage? Famous influencers?

No doubt all of these work – but if you’re on a budget, you’ll be shocked at how effective natural videos with text formatting from IG/TikTok can be.

Don’t believe us?

Check out this ad by Jolie. Simple, effective (and informative!), this ad has all the ingredients for success:

  • A clear hook addresses a problem — hair products don’t work.

  • Then uses the ‘it’s not your fault’ psychology to sell, explaining why it’s not the products, but your water supply! Hard water is bad for hair.

  • It presents a solution: and it’s super easy too! Just screw on their showerhead in place of yours, and voila!

What we think: With such low production costs, ads like these are a great way to test creative hooks and reach new user personas at the top of your funnel. If the concept works, you can always scale this idea.
