Want Better Returns On Your Ads? Here Are 5 Key Metrics To Track
Want to know the secret to running profitable ads?
Beyond offer, hook, and creative, it’s all about tracking the right metrics.
So which key metrics should you track for your store?
Luckily, we don’t have to reinvent the wheel on this one!
Here are pro-advertisers Moiz Ali and Nik Sharma’s top 5 metrics for DTC:
Revenue (New/Repeat customers): This is a no-brainer, but the important thing is to look at total revenue and per-channel revenue, broken by new/repeat customers.
Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) by channel: Keep an eye on the blended or overall CAC, but also break it down by channel to understand per-channel scalability and % share in overall ad spend/revenue.
Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) by campaign/creatives: Keeping an eye on CAC for top campaigns and creatives (for example for your biggest spending campaigns like ASC on Meta) will let you what’s working and what’s not, and serve as a reference point for bid strategies and seasonal ups and downs.
Funnel Metrics: Understanding the ratio of sessions → add to carts → purchases helps you understand which landing pages or CRO measures are working and which aren’t.
Conversion Rate: by top pages and products (top 5 URLs that drove the highest conversions), so you know which products have product-market fit, and can scale.
