Top Tips to Fix Your Landing Pages

Want to improve your landing page conversion rates?

Here are some top tips from the team at Oddit and landing page expert Ryan Doney of Ad Lunam:

  • Optimize for ‘good clicks’ - If you’re running ads on search or social, make sure your shoppers find what they expect on your landing page when they click on your ads. Matching your landing page goal to your ad goal is a good way to do this.

  • Show Social Proof up top - Use social proof in your hero section. A quick and easy way to do this is to lead with your most compelling one-liner below the main headline. Proven to improve CTR!

  • It’s all about a clear CTA - Add a sticky announcement bar with a clear CTA (Call to Action), repeat your CTA at multiple places on your page, and use font and color to make your CTA stand out. The bottom line is to make sure your visitors know exactly what to do. 👉 PRO TIP: Repeat your primary CTA throughout your page, but don’t confuse shoppers with conflicting prompts. Ideally, prioritize one action you want your shoppers to take.

  • Utilize heat maps and user recordings: Tools like Hotjar, Clarity, or Lucky Orange help you collect and understand user behavior. From heat maps that help you see where you’re getting maximum clicks, to user recordings that show you how your shoppers navigate your pages, these tools can prove indispensable if you're trying to understand your website visitors' behavior.

#FeaturedAd - AWAY

Brand: Away Category: LuggageFormat: Video

Caption: It’s almost like we’ve moved through an airport beforeHeadline: Bags with sleeves that slide over suitcases

WHY IT WORKS: Few ads convey quite as much even in 30 seconds as this Away ad does in just seven! Using bright-colored mix-n-match tiles, it showcases different sleeve styles that fit perfectly over a cabin-sized suitcase. The headline copy is simple and repeated within the ad, making it impossible to miss. As for the caption, it’s snark done deliciously right. What makes it work is that it manages to paint a picture AND capture a real pain point - the frustration of trying to tow our handbags or backpacks on top of our cabin luggage - and failing!

Branded Catalog Spotlight - BRÜMATE

Brand: BrumateCategory: DrinkwareTemplate Type: Background + Price

WHY IT WORKS:

  • Designed for a specific collection, the template uses background-removed product images with a complementary background.

  • The wilderness print on the products is juxtaposed against a nature-inspired visual to create interest.

  • The dark background and textured images immediately grab attention in a predominantly light-colored feed.

  • The logo and prices are mapped in alternating colors to create interest and add trust.
